Step by step
From this page to your first bid
Everything happens on the auction page. Follow the steps below, or watch the walkthrough.
Open the auction page
The bike is the only lot. Open the auction page and click Register for Auction. You’ll be asked to log in or create an account.Create your account
Click Create Account (or Log in if you already have one). Choose a username without too many special characters, and give us a telephone number so we can reach you if you win. Choose whether you’d like updates from VETS beyond the auction emails, review the Terms of the Auction and the Privacy Policy, tick the box and click Create Account.Activate your account from your email
Check your inbox for an email titled “Please activate your account to complete registration.” Click either link in it, in the same browser, and you’ll land back on the auction page with your account activated.Log in and confirm your registration
Click Log in (or Bid) and sign in with your new account. One last page asks you to confirm that you’ve read and accept the Terms of the Auction. Tick the box and click Confirm Registration. You’re now registered to bid on the bike.Place your bid
Click Bid. Bidding starts at $5,000 and goes up in $500 increments. A pop-up asks you to confirm; click Confirm Bid and that’s it. If you’re the highest bidder, the lot will say so. We’ll email you the moment you’re outbid, with a link to bid again.Set a maximum bid (optional)
Don’t want to watch the auction? Click the Autobid button and enter the most you’re willing to pay. The auction then bids for you, in $500 increments and only as much as needed to keep you in the lead, and stops at your maximum. If your maximum is $25,000 and the next-highest bidder stops at $20,000, you win at $20,500, not $25,000. If you place a bid and are outbid straight away, someone’s autobid is at work: bid above their maximum to take the lead.Did you get outbid?
Turn your bid into a gift for veterans.
Only one rider takes home Serial No. 1776, but every bidder can still stand with veterans. If the bike goes to someone else, consider donating a portion or all of what you were ready to bid. It goes to work right away, funding access to treatment, coaching and the support that carries a veteran and their family forward. Your name joins the Honor Wall, in your own name or in honor or memory of a veteran, and Amber and Marcus Capone will thank you personally. Donate $2,500 or more of your bid and we’ll send the limited-edition Freedom to Ride Collection as our thanks.Winning the bike
Bidding closes on Saturday, December 12 at 8:00 AM Central. A bid in the last 5 minutes extends the close by 5 minutes, so a last-second bid can’t end it early. The highest bid when the clock runs out wins. We’ll email the winner, and Amber and Marcus Capone will call within 48 hours.Payment and delivery
Payment in full is due within 72 hours of our email, by wire or ACH transfer. There’s no buyer’s premium. Once payment clears, VETS arranges free white-glove delivery anywhere in the United States, expected within 7 days, with the bike professionally detailed and the collector items included.

What is being auctioned?

Placing a bid
How do bids work?
Can I take a bid back?
What is a maximum bid?
A maximum bid, sometimes called an auto-bid, lets you enter the most you are willing to pay and then step away. The system bids on your behalf in $500 increments, but only as much as it needs to in order to stay in front.
It does not jump the price up to your maximum. If you set $25,000 and the next highest bidder stops at $20,000, you lead at $20,500, not $25,000.
I placed a bid and was outbid straight away. What happened?
I want to bid well above the current price. How?

Will I know if I have been outbid?

What if I cannot pay in time?
How does the motorcycle get to me?
We arrange white-glove delivery to any address in the United States at no cost to you, and the motorcycle is professionally detailed before it goes out. Delivery is expected within 7 days after your payment clears, subject to carrier scheduling.
You need to be available to receive it and to sign the delivery receipt. If you cannot accept delivery within 30 days of payment, VETS may charge reasonable storage costs, or after written notice cancel the sale and refund what you paid less those costs.

What emails will I get if I register?
Two kinds. Auction emails cover your account, password resets, outbid notices, bid confirmations and, if you win, your invoice. These are part of running the auction and cannot be switched off while your account is active or an invoice is open.
You will also receive VETS emails with news, stories and appeals. Every one of those carries an unsubscribe link, and you can use it at any time without affecting your bidding.
Will you text me?
Will my information be sold or shared?
Where do I find the full rules?
Who do I contact with a question?
Not bidding? You can still stand with veterans.
One bike, one winner. But every gift does the same work: getting veterans access to treatment, and to the support that comes after it.
